Bayani Agbayani Video Scandal

A youtube video showing an intoxicated fuming guy in a heated argument is now circulating on the internet.

The guy is said to be comedian Bayani Agbayani and the incident was happened on March 19, 2009 in a parking lot infront of Pier One Bar at The Fort, Taguig City.

In today's Wow! Ang Showbiz radio program in DWIZ, Bayani admitted that he is indeed the guy in the video.

"Kasi ang nangyari diyan, kasi yung parking lot sa The Fort, naka-hang siya pababa. So, nung pagsakay ko sa kotse ko, 'kala ko naman 'pag automatic, 'pag nasa 'D' ka hindi aatras. Nasa drive ka na, kahit hindi mo tinapakan yung gasoline, di aatras. So, umatras.

Bayani also mentioned that aside from the six thousand pesos payment he also asked for an apology but one of guys still hurled profane words at him, "Oo. Kaya ang sabi ko 'Alam mo, sumasaludo ako sa 'yo, bilib ako sa 'yo. Kaya lang, yung kasama niya nung nagse-settlement na kami, minura ako,'P**nang mo, 'wag mo nang i-settle 'yan, sa Crame na lang tayo magkita!"

According to Bayani he is not aware that his actions were being recorded and there's a malice intention in putting an edited video version of that incident on the internet.

Bayani also clarified the news that he held a gun during that time.

"Bilang lalake naman, inaalis ko yung pagiging artista ko... Wala po akong dalang baril, ha? Wala po, ha? Nag-aral naman po ako para ipagtanggol ang sarili ko. Kasi po yung iba, ang akala porke nagpapatawa ka, kayan-kayanan ka nila. Kaya kahit papaano, iinisip ko naman yung paraan para maipagtanggol ko naman yung sarili ko."

ABS-CBN Summer Station ID 2009

ABS-CBN recently launched its Summer Station ID. The station's new station ID shows how such vigor can be used to help make the country a better place.

In the colorful music video, entertainment stars and news personalities will be seen building homes for the poor, cleaning a river and the sea, sweeping streets, feeding children, among many other community activities.

They will also be dancing to a lively song performed by the Kanto Boys Billy Crawford, John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano and Vhong Navarro. The song, written by Robert Labayen and Peewee Gonzales, is about "spreading love and care every day and everywhere." The music was composed by Star Records’ Christian Martinez.

ABS-CBN chose the socially relevant theme recognizing the hard times brought about by the global recession. The creators of the summer station ID believe the scarcity of material wealth can be overcome by an abundance of generosity and concern for one another. That is also why the company’s TV channel is using the battlecry Kayang-Kaya Natin, Kapamilya for the whole year.

The summer station ID was created by ABS-CBN’s Creative Communications Management Team. The project was led by Johnny de los Santos, Danie Sedilla-Cruz, Edsel Misenas, Kathrina Sanchez and Dang Baldonado. It is directed by Paolo Ramos and Peewee Gonzales. Other members are Jimmy Porca, project coordinator; Wowie Hao, cinematographer; Sam Esquillon, production designer; Rap dela Rea, editor; Maribeth Bichara, choreographer; Rosalie David, caster; and Marvin Bragas, location manager.

Manny Pacquiao Cancels Tie-up Contract with ABS-CBN; Kapamilya Respects Pacman's Decision

Manny Pacquiao finally put an end to the contestation made by his decision to tie-up and broadcast his upcoming fight with Ricky Hatton on May 2 with ABS-CBN and disregard current contract with Solar Sports and GMA-7.

In a statement—which was relayed through his legal counsel, Atty. Franklin Gacal on March 21, Pacquiao chose to drop the contract he recently signed with ABS-CBN to honor the "valid and binding" agreements between Solar Sports and MP Promotions.

Here's the message of Pacquiao:

Meanwhile, despite the earlier announcements and teaser plugs which were aired, ABS-CBN "respects" Manny's decision.

Here is ABS-CBN's statement relayed the station's Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio:

"Manny Pacquiao approached ABS-CBN to be his media partner in airing his next fights. We thank you him for trusting us.

"He signed a contract with us, but we will not stand in the way if he decides to change his mind. We respect it, wish him good luck and we wait to hear from him."

Yes Magazine 50 Most Powerful in Showbiz for 2008

The YES! list of the 50 Most Powerful in Showbiz for 2008 starts with a fair advice: "Before you dive into this list, a warning: You may not like what you read."

Listing down the movers and shakers of the local entertainment scene over the past fifteen months, the country's premier entertainment magazine—now celebrating its 9th year anniversary—ranks the "industry players who took an active role in shaping the landscape of entertainment."

The list—which may not sit well with some industry players and readers—bravely covers all corners by presenting not just the entertainers constantly seen on screen, but also commanding personalities who maneuver behind the spotlight: network executives, directors, talent managers, institutions, tycoons, a cosmetic surgeon, and even a renowned scriptwriter.

Here is the complete list of Yes Magazine 50 Most Powerful in Showbiz for 2008.

ENTERTAINERS Category:

On top spot is Wowowee host Willie Revillame. Revillame bested 49 others to emerge as the most powerful in his field. The controversial TV personality recently brandished his uncanny mass appeal when he propelled YES!—in which he was the cover on its January 2009 issue—to publishing milestone by selling an enormous amount of copies unheard of in the local glossy magazine market.

"But the man has mojo," the article stated. "After ABS-CBN snapped him up again and reinstalled him as king of its noontime programming in 2005, he turned his life around—image, finances, lifestyle, work ethic, even daily routine—to become the king of Kapamilya land."

His peso value: 1 million per day contract with ABS-CBN

2nd: Actress and game show host Kris Aquino. Kris may not be as controversial as she was in the past, but it certainly did not diminish her star value. Landing in second place, the self-styled "Queen of All Media" barged into the list by the sheer grit of her worth (monetary speaking, that is).

Her peso value: 3.3 million guaranteed salary per month contract with ABS-CBN

3rd: Box-Office King John Lloyd Cruz, whose stocks rose even higher brought by the back-to-back success of A Very Special Love and You Changed My Life.

His peso value: 500 thousand per movie. 80 - 100 thousand per taping day

4th: Action superstar and Totoy Bato's lead star, Robin Padilla.

His peso value: 200-250 thousand per taping day

5th: GMA-7's current prized female star Marian Rivera who, according to showbiz insiders, pockets a cool "upwards P50,000 per taping day."

Her peso value: 600 thousand per movie. 50 thousand per taping day

6th: Zorro lead star and GMA-7's most prized male star Richard Gutierrez.

His peso value: 4 million per movie. 200 - 250 thousand per taping day

7th: One of the world's most sexiest Dingdong Dantes.

His peso value: 500 thousand - 1.5 million per movie. 100 thousand per taping day

11th: Vic Sotto

12th: Megastar Sharon Cuneta

13th: Young superstar Judy Ann Santos

14th: Toni Gonzaga

15th: 2008 Box-office queen Sarah Geronimo

16th: Michael V.

17th: Ogie Alcasid

18th: Regine Velasquez

19th: Bea Alonzo

GMA-7 and Solar Sports to File Legal Case Against Manny Pacquiao; Pacquiao Answers Back

Filipino boxing champ Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao announces his decision to tie-up with ABS-CBN and it gives Pacman's Kapamilya supporters a good reason to be jolly but not for GMA-7 and Solar sports.

Solar Sports expressed its disappointment with Pacman's decision to cut short their contract, claiming that the contract with the boxing champ is still valid.

Solar's legal counsel Atty.

Solar has yet to hear from Pacman concerning this issue though they revealed that Pacman has sent them a letter stating that he wanted to end his contract with them.

For Solar, they are ready to file cases against anyone—be it Pacman or ABS-CBN—who would violate the contract's agreement.

Likewise, GMA-7 also released a statement early this afternoon to show their disappointment with the boxing champ's decision.

GMA network’s Corporate Communications department through Legal Affairs Vice President Dick Perez, to Pacman.

The letter reads in full:

"Dear Mr. Pacquiao,

"We refer to your televised announcement that you have decided to partner with ABS-CBN and to the report that your future fights, including your match with Hatton, will now be aired in ABS-CBN.

"Please be advised that the Agreement between you and GMA still subsists and provides as follows:

"2.2 TALENT shall not appear on any television program, show, promotion or event of any broadcast media entity other than GMA and its subsidiaries and affiliates without the written consent of GMA."

"Your unilateral action to give ABS-CBN the right to air the Pacquiao-Hatton fight violates the above-referred provision to the Agreement.

"We demand that you strictly comply with the terms of our Agreement and that you recall immediately your grant to ABS-CBN of the airing right to the fight, otherwise, much to our regret, we shall take such actions as are necessary in order to protect our interests.

"We request your response to this letter within seven (7) days from your receipt hereof. If you fail to respond within the period given, we shall assume that you have not recalled your grant of airing right to ABS-CBN."

However, Manny Pacquiao said he is not affected by the possibility of him being sued after he chose ABS-CBN to be his new media partner.

"Maluwag ang loob ko. May mga tao naman ako na nag-aasikaso ng mga bagay na yan.

"Ako ang ginagawa ko ay mag-concentrate at focus sa fight ko at sana panoorin niyo fight ko at ipagdasal ako. Mapapanood niyo ang fight sa ABS-CBN versus Ricky Hatton.

"Laban ko, laban ng lahat. Maraming salamat sa inyo," said Pacquiao.

GMA-7 is Disappointed in Manny Pacquiao's Decision to Tie-Up with ABS-CBN

Manny Pacquiao's decision to cut his ties with Solar Sports, which broadcasts his fights on TV through GMA-7, and partner again with ABS-CBN causes a big disappointment on GMA Network Management .

In this regard, GMA Network released a statement about Pacquiao's move. And it reads:

"GMA Network is very disappointed with the reported decision of Manny Pacquiao to transfer from Solar Sports to ABS-CBN the rights to broadcast his fight with Ricky Hatton on May 2, 2009 and his other fights.

"We would like to clarify the following points:

1. The existing contract for the airing of Manny Pacquiao's fights in the Philippines is between Pacquiao and Solar Sports and NOT between Pacquiao and GMA Network;

2. Solar Sports just enters into blocktime agreements with GMA Network for the airing of Manny Pacquiao's fights in the country.

"Ms. Beth Celis in her newspaper column last March 18, 2009 said that 'The network (ABS-CBN) is said to have offered Manny full media support in the next election to ensure victory in the next year's congressional elections.' GMA Network did not offer the same to Pacquiao because the Omnibus Election Code prohibits television networks from doing so. Section 95 of the code states that 'no contribution for purposes of partisan political activity shall be made directly or indirectly' by grantees of franchises such as television networks.

"It was also reported that Pacquiao favored the other network because of ABS-CBN's dominance in Saranggani and the international presence of their reporters. GMA Network's news teams and existing contributors in key areas worldwide adequately cover important events like those of Pacquiao's activities. GMA also has a superior signal in General Santos City and environs.

"Aside from his two existing programs, Pinoy Records and Totoy Bato, GMA Entertainment offered projects to Manny as soon as his schedule allows. These include his own sitcom, a drama series, concerts in Las Vegas and Los Angeles in the United States and in key cities in Canada, and boxing clinics around the Philippines. The network may have to review these now in light of the recent developments.

"Moreover, according to GMA's Legal Counsel, Atty. Dick B. Perez, Manny Pacquiao has a separate contract with GMA Network which prohibits him from appearing on 'any television program, show, promotion or event of any other broadcast media entity other than GMA and its subsidiaries and affiliates without the written consent of GMA.' GMA has not given him its consent to appear in ABS-CBN."

There is really no stopping Charice to conquer the international scene.

Although her first international album is yet to be released, Charice hits another milestone in her career as she is set to appear in her first Hollywood movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2".

Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 is a live action-animation production by 20th Century Fox currently shooting in L.A. and slated to be shown in the Philippines in January 2010. It’s not clear yet what role Charice is playing but she already flew to Los Angeles last Monday in preparation to her first shooting day next week.

Charice was very careful not to reveal too many details about the said movie.

"Yung story niya umiikot sa tatlong animated characters," was the only clue Charice gave to the press.

Manny Pacquiao Returns to ABS-CBN

Filipino boxing hero Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao renewed his ties with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp., which will air his next matches including his highly-anticipated superfight with British superstar Ricky Hatton on May 2.

"Pagkatapos kong pag-isipang mabuti nilapitan ko ang ABS-CBN. Napagpasyahan ko pong makipag partner muli sa kanila,” Pacquiao, the reigning pound-for-pound king, said via ABS-CBN's TV Patrol.

"Sarili ko po itong desisyon," he added. "Sa ABS-CBN mapapanood nyo ang laban ko kay Ricky Hatton at ang mga susunod ko pa pong mga laban."

Pacquiao and ABS-CBN have collaborated in some of his fights, including the one against Mexican Oscar Larios in July 2006. The broadcasting network also aired his matches to Filipinos overseas through ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel.

"Wala pong pagbabago. Ang laban ko rin po ay laban po nating lahat mga Pilipino, kahit saan mang sulok ng mundo."

Pacquiao also appealed for support from his fans especially in his upcoming fight against Hatton, who is considered as his toughest match to date.

"Sana po, lagi nyo po akong ipagdasal sa mga darating ko pang laban, lalung lalo na this coming May second," said the Filipino champ, who also thanked his former network GMA-7 by saying, "Nagpapasalamat ako sa aking mga dating media partner."

ABS-CBN welcomed the return of Pacquiao even as it assured its support for his campaign against Hatton.

"We are very happy with the decision of Manny Pacquiao to be his partner in future fights, including the Pacquiao-Hatton fight on May 2. As his former media partner, we shall support Manny's campaign to bring honor to the Philippines and to his kababayans here and around the world," said Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN Head of Corporate Communications, in a statement.

"To Manny, we say, 'Welcome home, Kapamilya'," he added.

Osorio said that Pacquiao has signed a letter of intent with ABS-CBN which will cover the Hatton match and possibly three or more fights thereafter.

On questions about Pacquiao's contract with Solar Sports Entertainment, Osorio said the boxer will later answer queries to explain his decision.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao has reportedly long been wanting to return to ABS-CBN according to actress and talk show host Kris Aquino.

Aquino said in her program Showbiz News Ngayon that she greeted Pacquiao's wife Jinkee through text messaging after receiving news that the boxer has reopened his partnership with the network.

"Katext ko kanina si Mareng Jinkee Pacquiao at sinabi kong 'welcome back, balik Kapamilya ulit kayo'," said Aquino.

The talk show host said Jinkee replied back with: "Alam mo mare, matagal na talagang gusto ni Manny magbalik sa ABS-CBN at siya talaga ang may gusto at gumawa ng paraan para maging Kapamilyang muli."
