MMFF 2010 Final 2 Weeks Gross Earnings Reached P530M; 'Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote' Takes The Lead


Ric Camaligan, President of the National Cinemas Association of the Philippines and member of this year's MMFF executive committee happily announced that they reached their P500 million mark goal in terms of the total gross earnings of the 8 movies included in last year's MMFF run is concern.

In its 14-day film festival run, all eight MMFF movie entries reached a combined total gross of P530 million. This is P93 million higher compared to last year's results, wherein seven entries brought in a total of P437 million.

The action-fantasy film "Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote" the first movie team-up of Vic Sotto and Senator Bong Revilla Jr. takes the lead with a total earnings of P159M.

Close second is Ai-Ai delas Alas' "Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na 'To!". This Star Cinema comedy film raked a total of P157 million.

The suspense-thriller Dalaw, topbilled by Kris Aquino and Diether Ocampo, earned P96 million. While Regal Films' "Shake, Rattle & Roll 12" had a P50 million gross earnings.

The other entries in the 36th MMFF are: the drama-comedy "Father Jejemon" starring Dolphy; drama-film bio from Studio 5 "Rosario"; the 3D animated film "RPG: Metanoia" starring the voice of Zaijan Jaranilla; and the comedy-fantasy "Super Inday and the Golden Bibe" topbilled by Marian Rivera.
