Two Stories of Filipino Drivers in “Patrol Ng Pilipino”

The country was hit by two big news reports on public transport recently - the protest “caravan” staged by a group of drivers due to the oil price hike and the MMDA’s training of female bus drivers in reaction to the growing number of road mishaps.

This Tuesday, April 8, in “Patrol ng Pilipino,” the public will finally get to see the stories behind these events through the accounts of ABS-CBN Correspondents Doland Castro and Zen Hernandez.

Doland follows the “Caravan” launched by the group PISTON to show their sentiments on the continuous oil price hike. About 20,000 of them halt operations in Angeles City while other members gathered in Mendiola to strengthen their protests.

Meanwhile, Zen rides with one of the “queens of the road,” Kathlyn Mabajos, in her first trip as a bus driver. She is one of the lucky 13 female applicants who passed the training for bus drivers.

Where will the journey of the rallying drivers head and will MMDA’s female bus drivers prevent accidents on the streets?

Find out in their reports in “Patrol ng Pilipino,” Tuesday night, April 8, after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.
