Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed a tax evasion case against Brazilian TV host-model-actress Daiana Menezes.
According to BIR Commissioner Kim Henares, the tax evasion case is due to non payment of taxes by Menezes totaling P983, 658.07 for the years 2007 to 2009. BIR investigation revealed that Menezes earned P2, 659,668.10 from endorsing Baliuag Lechon Chicken, Inc., TAPE Inc., and GMANetwork.
The agency also learned that, as a requirement to getting government permit, license, clearance, official papers or documents, Menezes took a Taxpayer Identification Number, which reportedly shows her avoidance to pay tax.
Daiana is the 38th person to be charged under the Run After Tax evaders(RATE) program of the BIR.
