Kidnapper Points Gun at Sarah Geronimo's Dad Inside ABS-CBN Parking

A man posing as Sarah Geronimo's fan allegedly pointed an electric gun (stun gun) at her father, Delfin Geronimo while the singer-actress was still doing a show at ASAP XV.

The incident reportedly happened between 2 to 3 PM Sunday, August 8, 2010, at the Basement 1 Parking Area inside the ABS-CBN building.

According to Daddy Delfin, an ABS-CBN security guard contacted him, saying the suspect, a Paulino Mercado, had a gift for him to claim. Upon arriving at the basement, the suspect told Daddy Delfin that in order to collect the gift, he had to sign papers inside a van that was parked in a dimly lit area of the basement.

Once near the open van, Daddy Delfin said Paulino forcibly pushed him inside and poked a stun gun at him. Daddy Delfin fought off Paulino and screamed for help to which an ABS-CBN security group promptly responded.

The suspect was brought to Station 10 QCPD where he denied the accusation. Paulino said.

Authorities also recovered a tampered license plate and curtains that hung in the suspect's van.

Maaring ipatubos ako sa pamilya ko," a tense Daddy Delfin said.

Paulino, however, denied he planned to kidnap Geronimo. He admitted that he only planned to rob him.
